Presidential candidate for the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) Akua Donkor has called on her followers to vote massively for President John Mahama in the December polls.
According to her, she will not take any legal action against the Electoral Commission (EC) for disqualifying her in the December polls race.
“I have urged all my followers to vote for John Mahama. All my party officials are to vote for him. We are never going to court. The NDC government can have all my support…” she explained.
She added: “I won’t take EC chair, Charlotte Osei to court because I love that woman so much like the way I loved Afari Gyan so I can’t afford to sue her for disqualifying me. I am very sad about the situation but I know she did it lawfully. I love everyone there. Besides I leave everything in the hands of God” she stressed.
The EC has disqualified Madam Akua Donkor, together with other eleven Presidential aspirants from the December 7 polls.
Chairperson of the commission, Madam Charllote Osei who announced this in a press conference Monday said Mad Donkor failed to meet the nomination requirement for the Presidential contest.
Among others, the EC held that Madam Akua Donkor had some signatures missing on her form. Her running mate did not meet the age requirement as well, the EC held.
However, Madam Akua Donkor believes it is a waste of time and money to carry out a mission she believes will not yield any positive result.
“Initially when I heard that I had been disqualified, I got angry but later realized that it would have been bad on my part to be angry at Madam Osei because she is really on my heart. I won’t be part of those who wish to take legal action against her” she insisted.
