AUDIO: NDC GOOD IN GIVING BRIBES; THEY WILL CONTINUE TILL - OWUSU BEMPA
Reacting to claims by the outgoing Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Professor Emmanuel Martey, that some politicians attempted to bribe him with US$100,000.00 to gag him, Rev. Owusu Bempah said some big wigs in NDC made an attempt to bribe him some time ago to close his eyes to the ills of the NDC government.
“Did I hear the NDC daring Rev Martey to name his bribe givers? They shouldn’t dare because when it comes to giving bribes, NDC is the only party who gives and receives bribe. What Prof. Martey is saying is the truth. No member of the NPP has attempted to bribe me before.
“In fact, even me, they tried to bribe me a couple of times. I always wake up and see these NDC politicians flooding my house to bribe me with huge sums of money to gag me too” he stated.
Rev. Martey at a press conference Tuesday said among other things that he will not allow what he described as “babies with sharp teeth” who are wasting the tax payers’ money to gag him since he contributes his quota to nation building by paying tax.
He alleged that some politicians have tried all means to muzzle him, including an offer of $100,000, a house and a posh, powerful car.
His comment has been met with mixed reactions as individuals, politicians and the church dissect his utterances. Members of the governing party have dismissed the claim as a pack of lies.
But Owusu Bempah who believes the outgoing Moderator is incorruptible called on NDC to stop attacking the Man of God.
“I am ready to name the bribe givers if the NDC dare to come out and challenge me. How can you come to us for prayers and then later insult and bribe us at the end. Yes, I am not a Presbyterian but I won’t allow them to disgrace Prof Martey” he indicated.
