IN FACT PRESIDENT MAHAMA IS A COMPLETE ERROR
According to him, President Mahama should not blame erratic power supply in the country on sabotage from Nigeria as that is not the actual cause but rather should be open to Ghanaians to speak the truth for once that the country owes Nigeria Gas.
Speaking at a prayer ceremony at the Black Stars Square on the occasion of the Eid ul-Fitr celebration in Accra Wednesday July 6, he said "We have recently suffered some generational problems. Because of sabotage in Nigeria on the terminals, crude oil we ordered from Nigeria has not arrived and so it has created some generational problems for us”.
“I have asked the Bulk Oil Storage [and Transportation] Company to start storing at least one month of light crude oil supplied to Ghana so that in the event anything happens at the supply end in Nigeria, we are not affected the way we are currently affected. And, so, I will crave your indulgence and urge all of you to understand. We are not declaring load shedding, I believe things will be normalised. But we are taking steps every day to ensure that Ghana has security when it comes to power.”
But the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Secretary in an interview with Peacefmonline.com chided that it is not true that Nigeria has stopped supplying crude oil to Ghana for the purpose of sabotage but rather Mahama government owes Nigeria Gas money for previous supplies.
“Did I hear Mahama saying there is ‘sabotage’ in Nigeria hence the cut in the supply of crude to Ghana? In fact this President is a complete error!! Does it mean that Nigeria has stopped the export of crude because of the sabotage? . . . please, someone should advise the president to pay Nigeria gas so we can resume import of crude from Nigeria,” he chided.
